The Unbearable TL;DR of the Elderly Nerd
I remember: 8” Winchester drives, computer rooms built on suspended floors levelled with jacks at every junction, acoustic couplers linking our Teletype to a mainframe somewhere, printing rude pictures in ASCII art on tractor feed paper using the latest DEC PDP 11/23 running the latest software, making labels with a Photo Mechanical Transfer machine to use as headings when we Xeroxed them on a copier the size of a small car which you had to climb inside to replace the toner, etc, etc. So much knowledge rendered redundant. Still, as Stan Laurel said “Easy come, easy go”.
Anyway, here is some stuff I’m playing with: Delphi translation of USB HID Relay Device DLL. JSC3D Javascript 3D Demo.
